hello Shane, Thanks, this is what I always thought. I am at the point where
I am willing to do anything. I guess that I will just first to try the
reinstall of windows. If it does not work it confirms my thought that it is
a hardware problem. I will then probably replace both the mb and hd.
Reinstall win 7 then upgrade to 10. This machine is about 6 years old a few
months after win 7 was released
