I went straight to the source, and the reply was:
All commercial scripts were haulted in December. I couldn't keep up with all 
the program changes and spotify was the worst to keep up with. Good Luck.

no you can't, after playing with the latest stable release briefly I was far 
from impressed, so much so i decided to re-visit Last.fm, glad I did and sure 
don't regret subscribing either. Also cancelled my Spotify subscription.
