I have changed browsers on Windows 10. I did it through the control panel. I went to control panel, typed in the word Default in the search box, then clicked on the link Default programs. You will have a chance to see your default programs and will see the browser that is currentlyyour default. Click, and it will bring up alternative browsers, if IExplorer is on your computer, you will find it there and can click on it.
I am having other issues with Windows 10, and will ask about them here, but I managed to switch browsers as described above. Thanks. Keep in mind that my system is Windows 7, not 10, but IE allows you to use its own controls to make it the default.
