"Version" is the big one. A version comes out once a year on the FS calendar
and invariably includes a significant new feature or two. Releases are released
as needed, typically to address some new development in the Web world and to
make fixes based on customer comments. Sometimes, however, a release can
contain significant updates, such as the recent one addressing Office 2016
features. The current version number is 18, and all releases until 19 will
retain this number followed by a series of decimal numbers.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Latest Release Inquiry

To All:

I have noticed lately that there have been several references to JAWS and
“latest releases”. Can anyone tell me what the difference is, if any, between a
release and a version of JAWS? Many thanks in advance for the knowledge.

Jerry
