That is a bug in the realtek chip set. many have ben replacing it with either a different internal sound card or external sound device. This might help you. make sure in the sound properties that on the playback side the mic is checked, and hit alt key, arrow up to properties. Now tab and arrow to recording. Tab again and make sure the mic is checked to show, then hit ok. Now tab to mic and set level, check to turn on and if you want play with the advance button. To see if the mic boost does better on or off. if the mic is one in the playback side. you will hear yourself in the speakers. Witch you don't want for recording.
