Hi David,
I assume you have the memory stick that comes with the Basic-D that contains
the manual and drivers. If not, go to the manufacturer website at:
http://www.indexbraille.com
You can also check for newer firmware and download that as well. In order to
install firmware updates, you also need the ibPrint software. It's all on
the site. The site is a bit of a bear IMO, but check under downloads.
You simply run the driver software program, and it will install. Then you
define the embosser in DBT or whichever software you are using. It works
well with a USB connection.
For wireless connection, you will need a WI-FI bridge. You connect the
bridge to your network, and then connect the embosser to the bridge. You can
then set the port in the embosser to a static settings so that you don't
lose it with power outages, etc. I don't have directions for the bridge
setup, as we did it once a long time ago. I have to do it again, but have to
find directions for our Bufalo bridge. It's rather painful.
Once you have the bridge configured for your network, follow the printer
installation here:
http://www.indexbraille.com/en-us/support/knowledge-base/network/setup-a-tcp-ip-port-to-an-index-embosser
It might take a few tries to get this right. Good luck.
Jean

Subject: [JAWS-Users] jaws&Basic-d,
Good morning to all;
I have a couple questions regarding jaws and the Basic-d braille printer.
1, how to install the software, and add the printer dsow it shows in devices
and printers,
The second question is,
Is it possible to connect the Basic-d wirelessly?
In advance, thanks
