Hi I use Eset Smart Security. I find it to be somewhat accessable. I am assuming that Nod32 works like Eset Smart Security for antivirus However some changes need to be made to use them with JAWS.
1. Open Eset Smart Security or Nod32. 2. Pres f5 to open the advanced setup screen. 3. Arrow down or press the end key to User interface. 4. Press right arrow once and then down arrow to Graphics. 5 Tab to Graphical user interface 3 state button and press space bar to uncheck the button. 6. Tab to the OK button and press enter. Now the Advanced setup screen will be accessable. The main screen consists of a menu on the left side which is accessable and the choices for each menu item on the right side. The items on the right side of the screen are somewhat accessable. But I find that to successfully navigate and choose those items, I have to use the JAWS cursor. . ----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Dennis Long Sent: Saturday, May 27, 2017 12:42 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws 17 and ms security essentials Is eset accessible with jaws if so what version? -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Adrian Spratt Sent: Saturday, May 27, 2017 12:19 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws 17 and ms security essentials Wayne, everything seems to happen automatically. Esset is in my system tray, but I'm unable to do anything with it manually. I'm guessing that it could have been set up so that I could work with it manually, but I can't swear to it. Perhaps someone with some tech knowledge can post a more thorough description. -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of wayne smith Sent: Saturday, May 27, 2017 11:05 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws 17 and ms security essentials I was going to switch to Eset suite. My question is related to what happens if the scan finds something? Can you find the choices such as quarantine, delete and restore? At Best Buy a guy said he was using Webroot and that it is independent of the user and even updates automatically. However, I let it run in the background and so can't vouch for its accessibility. A tech guy set it up for me. but if you feel comfortable letting a program run by itself, with all conditions pre-set, accessibility isn't really an issue. Also, unlike my experience with some other antivirus programs running in the background, it doesn't interfere with JAWS' performance. -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Gerald Levy Sent: Saturday, May 27, 2017 7:55 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws 17 and ms security essentials Yes, MSE is totally accessible with JAWS as long as you use the JAWS cursor. This is probably the most accessible anti-virus program available, although it may not necessarily be the highest-rated in terms of anti-virus protection. But given the fact that both AVG and Avast are now both no longer accessible, MSE is probably the best alternative for JAWS users.
