Hi, Betty, What I did is add my sound bites to the media files to Windows on the C-drive. My hobby is antique music boxes, so I have created a number of sound bytes.
Once you have pasted your sound bytes into the media folder of windows, go back, go into Control Panel, Sounds, arrow to the Sound Schemes, then tab to the list of actions in windows. From each action listed, tab over until you find the media files. Arrow to the one you want to use for the particular action. There is a Test button to the right of the media files list you can select to hear your sound. Shift-tab back to the actions list and arrow to the next action. An so on. Arrowing to the correct sound for a particular action will select it. At the end of this process, save your sound scheme. Windows7, for instance, has a number of them and you can choose as you please. I can only see two sound schemes in win10, i.e. no sound and windows default. how do I add others? If I have my preferred sounds saved somewhere on my PC's hard-drive, can I add the sound of my liking to the those already installed and choose that sound for whatever action I want it to play whenever my PC is on? In windows media folder located in the 'C' drive, there are a number of .wav files and some folders also with the .wav files. How did they get to be there? these folders and files are also found in the schemes dialog. Can I, too, add my folder with my preferred sounds to that windows media folder? your assistance is appreciated in advance.
