Ok. I have no idea why that would even affect your sound in such a way at all. Doesn't seem to make sense. But I've been stumped before by weirder things I guess. Haha

I do remember that Ccleaner was pretty much the best out there though and it did seem to make some minor improvements on my XP machine. That said what you described doesn't sound like a glitch at all.
