Hi Sugar, Randy recommended you to turn off the JAWS Language Detection feature. This is one of the approaches you can use to fix this, and the one I use as a native Spanish speaker who prefer to read English as it is written instead of the way in which that language is pronounced, because as a non-native speaker it becomes harder to understand. However, if you usually read content in Spanish and like to read it with Spanish voices, you may prefer to change the language in your document. If this is a Word document and you want to set the whole document in English, do the following: 1. Open the document. 2. Press CTRL+A to select it all. If you're using a Spanish version of Word, press CTRL+E instead, as CTRL+A is for the Open dialog box. 3. If you have Word 2007 or latter, press F6 to go to the status bar, then press RIGHT ARROW until you reach the button indicating the language; activate it by pressing SPACE BAR. If you removed the language indication from the status bar, find the Set Language button in the Review tab; in Word 2013 and latter there's a dropdown Language button, which opens a menu in which you have to choose the Set Proofing Language command. I'd tell you the access keys to open that dialog quickly, but I don't know the exact ones for Word English versions (in Spanish it is ALT followed by R, ID, D. In Word 2003 and earlier the status bar is only usable with JAWS Cursor, so the easiest way to set the language is going to the Tools menu, Language sub menu and then the Set Language option. 4. In the Language dialog box, set the language you want for the document, in this case perhaps English (u.S.) and then press ENTER.

Hi I have a folder in my documents where I save friend and family's home addresses. For some of these addresses, Jaws will talk to me in Spanish, but just the numbers. Not all of them just a few of them. How can I correct this to where I want everything in English? Like I said it doesn't happen to all of them just a handful. There is speaking grace. Colossians 4:6 says, "Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man." ~Blessings, Sugar For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ --- El software de antivirus Avast ha analizado este correo electrónico en busca de virus. https://www.avast.com/antivirus For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
