Hello, JAWS has a method for naming columns and/or rows but using the Excel Naming Manager is what is now recommended. Here are the steps: 1. You first need to move the keyboard focus to the row containing the column headers. Use CTRL with G to launch the Go To dialog box. Type in the cell address, for example A13 if the column titles are on row 13 and start with column A. Press enter key to move to that position in the worksheet. 2. Use CTRL+3. You can alternatively use Alt+M followed by the letter "N." If using a mouse click on the Formula tab on the top part of the ribbon and then click on "Name Manager." 3. Click on the New button or press spacebar on the New button. If using the keyboard you might need to tab to the New button before pressing spacebar. 4. Type the following changing the cell addresses as required: ColumnTitle.a13..h13 There should be no spaces in what you type in this box. Capitalize the word column and the word title but do not leave spaces. The first period is for the beginning of the range of cells containing the column headings. The two periods together show the last cell in the range. If your column titles were on row 5 and went from column B to column F then you would type: ColumnTitle.b5..F5 5. Either click the OK button or use tab key until you find OK and press spacebar. 6. Either click the Close button or tab until you find the Close button and press spacebar. Take care. Dear jaws Users, I'm just new user of Jaws, and previously I was using Window-Eyes. So Far So good, I manage to learn to use the most basic things in Jaws, but one thing is still give me hassle to learn how to do it, and this is how to setup Jaws to read the excel headers. I followed the manual but I manage to succeed once, but from then onwards I never to succeed to setup jaws to read excel headers. And another point the manual sometimes make it difficult to understand every step, so it is possible that I'm missing something here. So can someone do me a great faviour and send me step by step instructions how I supposedly should program Jaws to read these excel headers.
