Hi,

Microsoft Speech Platform voices can use SAPI 5 XML tags, but actually aren't
SAPI 5 voices. JAWS, unlike NVDA, does not have compatibility with Microsoft
Speech Platform.
If you want to use these voices with JAWS, voices that I don't like because
they don't make any different intonation for exclamation and question
sentences, JAWS 2018 adds support for Microsoft Mobile voices, whose repertoire
is much the same as the available for Microsoft Speech Platform. However,
Microsoft Mobile voices are only available in Windows 10.
Some old voices like Sira or Mike in English or Helena in Spanish from Spain
have traditional desktop versions since Windows 8, but the repertoire is not as
complete as for Microsoft Mobile.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] installing Microsoft Speech Platform Voices

I am trying to install Microsoft Speech Platform voices, which seem to install,
however they are not showing up in my JAWS list of synthesizers.

Does anyone have experience with or know how to install these voices correctly?

Thanks.

Vicki
