Mike, on my system, the "dot" is pronounced. I'm also using JAWS 18, but it's
been consistently this way as long as I remember. I wonder if a punctuation
setting is involved. I'll think about it, but I'm sure others will post a good
answer in the meantime.

correctly

If I type a Yahoo email address, or a gmail address or even a edu address, all
I get is yahoo com, edu, org, but it doesn't pronounce the (dot) portion of the
email or web address. This can easily throw someone off, because if you're
dealing with lots of email addresses, it can be hard for someone to tell them
apart.
I looked in the startup wizard of Jaws, but it didn't seem to have any
information regarding how this type of information is read or how to adjust it.
Fortunately, I have a backup screen reader in addition to Jaws.
Window-eyes seems to be the only screen reader that will actually read this
info correctly. Hopefully they'll fix this in a future upgrade of Jaws. I'm
currently using version 18.

Hi fellow Jaws users:
Could someone please tell me how to get Jaws to read email address and web
domains correctly? For example, when I read someone's email address or web
address, I would prefer to hear dot com, dot e d u, dot org Etc. Thanks.
Mike
