Most certainly a dongle is the way to go if you can handle it. On a lap top
I suggest you avoid using those things as they might break off, but on a
tower it is the only way to fly.

Weird.
I think next time I'm going to get one of those dongles myself. It seems
like they do make things easier for us.

Hi
A couple of years ago, I got a CGate 3 TB drive for my Windows 7 machine.
It came with software from CGate to allow it to use all 3 TB in a single
partition. It worked fine until It recently failed But I had one problem
when I had that drive. Every week or two, my JAWS locking code would
change, requiring me to reauthorize JAWS, even though I made no hardware
changes. I never had that problem before or after I had that drive. I
circumvented the problem by purchasing a JAWS dongle to authorize JAWS.

Interesting, my research indicates that anything over 2 terabytes is not
addressed using NTFS, guess you can't believe everything you read on the
internet. Thank you, so I gather you are addressing every bit of your 4
terabytes.

David,
I have a couple internal 4Tb drives in my desktop tower, but have no idea
what GPT is. I formatted mine (or ensured that they are formatted) as NTFS.

I have been considering getting a 4 terabyte drive or even possibly larger
and I am already aware that if is an internal drive that goes in a case it
has to be formatted as GPT. Conversely I figure if it is already in its’ own
case that it is most likely already formatted.
I was just curious if there was anything else to make note or be aware of is
all.
