Hi,

Not sure about your second question, but i can easily answer your first one. 
Either go to the JAWS window by alt tabbing, or press insert J to go to the 
context menu. In there, go to options, then basics. In basics, there's a 
check box labled run JAWS from system tray. tab to that box and press space 
bar to check it. Press enter to save the change and close the dialogue, then 
restart JAWS to apply the change.
