I've never had to do this. And considering how many things get broken or
settings changed back from my preferences when Microsoft forces their
updates, I'd be very annoyed if I had to do this. I've been interested in
computing for a long time and I understand both sides of the argument, but
when you spend so much time tweaking, fixing and re-installing after an
update instead of actually getting important things done, something is very
wrong with the system.

That is normal when you do that upgrading from 1 win ten to a later version
you will need to un install Jaws and other programs.
So just go ahead with the install and windows will remove apps.
Then yu will have to install them again.
I just did this couple weeks back
Cheers Michael.

Ah, glad to hear someone else is finding this. Received the same
notification but no way to learn just which apps are in the way.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Problem with Jaws and installing Windows 10 updates

Hey group,

I'm using Jaws 2018.1710.36 and attempting to update a current version of
Windows 10. I am getting the following error, which I have never seen
before, and am wondering what to do.

Windows Update
Some apps need to be uninstalled
These programs need to be uninstalled because they aren't compatible with
the upgrade.
. JAWS for Windows
. JAWS for Windows
Uninstall and continue
Support Legal

Will upgrading to the latest build of Jaws resolve this issue? Any helpful
information will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Norma
