Hi Robin, You nailed it! I've played with different configurations of settings so many times in the Speak Dropbox configuration window, but the 1 thing I never turned off / unchecked was the, Automatically Speak Dropbox Status, option. I always thought this option was the option that would tell me if Dropbox was up to date or not. Well, turning this option off has seemed to solve the excessive updating chattering problem! Thank you very much for your reply. Merry Christmas to you, yours, & everyone else! Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool. Arguing with a woman is like reading a software license agreement. Hi, That's speak drop box checking for updates to itself I believe and if my understanding is correct in its own dialog that is speak drop box's you can set that to off. Its tray icon should get you to its preferences dialog. I hope that helps. Robin -----Original Message----- From: Mike B. Jaws keeps reporting that Dropbox is checking for an update. How can I stop this update reporting crap? I don't know if it's the Speak Dropbox program responsible for this, or if it's the Dropbox program & it's entries in the Task Scheduler?! Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much, & a very Merry Christmas to all. Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool. Arguing with a woman is like reading a software license agreement.
