To work with the speech settings you first go into the OpenBook Settings
menu by using Alt key with G.
Arrow down to speech settings and press enter key.
This is a multi-tab dialog but speech settings tab should be the tab in
focus. Otherwise, press CTRL with tab until the speech tab is selected.
Tab to the Synthesizer combo box and use up and down arrow keys to make
the
choice you want. Eloquence is one of the choices you should find.
Use shift-tab and find the checkbox for applying the change to all voices
if
that is what you want. Otherwise, the Voice Selection voice dictates
whether the change is for the reading voice, menu voice. Etc.
Tab to the Voice Name box and make your choice.
Use the apply button and then the OK button.
Use Alt with G again and enter key on the Save the Settings menu item.
If you want the change to be the default just leave Default as the name,
otherwise type in a new name for the settings.
Tab to the various checkboxes that determine which settings you want
included. Use spacebar to uncheck or check settings you want included.
Use the Save button.
If you chose to overwrite the default you will be asked if you want to do
so
and you can answer accordingly.
To retrieve a particular group of settings later go under the settings
menu
with Alt and G, arrow down to the settings to retrieve and press enter
key.
You can delete the settings group by going under the Settings menu and
choosing the delete settings menu item. Select the settings name to
delete
and use the OK button.

you can set OpenBook to use jaws speech instead of OpenBook speech! it's
always been like that since OpenBook 8!
