Miriam, yes, I've encountered this many times, and the solution is to reboot.
The only difference in our system and program configurations is that I have
Word 2010.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 18 and Word in office 365

I assume that when I reboot my computer, this problem will disappear, but just
late this afternoon, Jaws would not read individual letters in word if I
arrowed through a line, letter by letter. Then I wrote a business letter and
put an envelope into the printer and went to the envelopes page with alt 1.
Jaws acted as if the address wasn't there. I could tell it was there only
because I'm using Magic at 22X and I arrowed around and saw it. I then put in
my return address with alt R and again, Jaws said nothing at all, but I could
see that it was there. I'll see what happens when I reboot, but I'm wondering
if anyone else has encountered this. I have Windows 7, Jaws 18, a
64 bit computer, and IE 11.
