Yes. More specifically, .tif stands for "text image". Do you have a scanner?
Your OCR software might make .tif images before rendering them as readable
documents. Try doing some oCR on them and see what happens.

They're image files typically produced by scanners (or fax applications, if
memory serves).

Afternoon everybody.
I was going through some of my files on my laptop and external hard drives.
I came across several files with the tif extension. I know that jpegs are
photos, and I believe the gifs are, as well. What are tif files? I am
running jaws 2018 and windows 10 on a dell laptop. Thanks in advance.
