No. In Outlook at least, you have to go to options, ease of access and if you want sounds disabled all together for the program, uncheck the first box when you tab down. Otherwise if you tab after that, there are a couple of sound schemes that you can pick from. I for whatever reason started to get the annoying arcade game sounds when deleting an email and other cartoonish affects that started to annoy me since I deal with Outlook all day for business. The control panel thing didn't work for me and the Microsoft accessibility guy on the phone then suggested we do a Windows repair which I wasn't ready to do. I poked around some more and came across this setting. Outlook has been blissfully quiet ever since. There are other sounds being made depending on the action, but I just used the delete for an example of what I'd like to do. These sounds occur in any office application, not one specific.
