As I mentioned yesterday, I wrote to VFO about this. Here's the encouraging 
reply:

Thank you for contacting VFO(tm) Technical Support. This issue has already been 
submitted to our Development team to be addressed in an upcoming JAWS update. 
Also, please rest assured that the associated defect has been updated to 
indicate that you are reporting this issue as well.
