Hi all,

I wrote my first Jaws script for a program called SUPER.
It's somewhat functional in that I can get it to do what I want it to do.
But I'm sighted, and I'm not at all an experience JAWS user.
So I'd really like some input and advice from the scriptwriters and
users here who are willing to test it.

The software is called SUPER, it's by eRightSoft, and best of all it's
freeware.
It can convert pretty much any audio and video to any format.
The website link is http://www.erightsoft.net/SUPER and it's hellishly
inaccessible. It took me about 20 minutes to get to the download page.

So I zipped the installer file and all my Jaws script files, and the lot
can be downloaded here.

If anyone feels adventurous, wants to help with the script, or just
wants to try it out, here's a short walk-through.

Install, get rid of the annoying window that informs you about your
system's compatibility, and press F1 to hear the commands I made available.

Here's quick "how to convert a file " tutorial, which if everything
works should result in a converted file.

Press CTRL+A and select a file to convert.
It should say "Select the file you want to encode".
If it does so you know my script is running (it won't say that when it's
not..I'm pretty sure the whole program won't say much without a script...)

Press Control+T to choose where you want to save the file.

Press Control+Shift+2 .
That should automatically set the output format to OGG.
If you want another output format, for instance mp3, you have to press
Control+Shift+3 and then arrow down to the format you want. And then hit
enter.

Press Control+Shift+E.
That should start encoding the file, and it should read the percentages.

I'd love to hear (here or backchannel) what goes wrong/ what doesn't work.
But because this is my first script I don't know if I can fix any of the
problems that will no doubt arise.
I also completely ignored the "function" part of the script writing
tutorial since that looked way too complicated.

Also I'm pretty sure I chose a difficult program to write a first script
for - the same key combinations/order of keystrokes will not always land
you in the same spot in the software, which makes clicking buttons and
accessing menus really hard to write a script for.
Hitting a letter on the keyboard also doesn't work because that seems to
also automatically sends an enter along with it.
For instance in the output format drop down menu, you can not press the
m once, and then arrow down to another option that starts with an m, or
hit the m again. It will just select the first option with an m that it
sees, and it will stick to that no matter what you do.
I don't know if any of the more experienced JAWS script writers here
have a nice workaround or solution for that?
Obviously feel free to add to or rewrite the script to make it function
better.

Corien.
