Whew, glad to know I'm not the only one running into this. (grins)

I've had a number of issues with the responsiveness of JAWS on my Dell. A
technician updated the RealTech driver to the latest, and it did not fix all of
the problems. We resorted to changing to the generic sound card driver and
there were significant improvements. However in the past 2 weeks after there
was some type of update, I'm having all sorts of problems with JAWS being
clipped, the volume jumping all over the place, and little crackling noises. I
just have not had the time to get someone to check out the sound card driver
situation.

Hi, I have had similar issues with my Dell as well, is it the Realtek driver by
any chance?
I Think it is to do with the sound card going to sleep mode after a little time
of inactivity to save battery.

For those with Asus computers with Jaws delay. I had the same problem with my
Asus laptop. I had Microsoft reload the latest speaker/sound drivers and it
took care of the problem. However, each time there is a Windows update, the
delay re-occurs and so you have to reload the drivers again. Regards:

Hi

Using an ASUS laptop with Jaws 2018 and windows 10.
There seems to be a delay with Jaws when carrying out any process. For instance
if I use alt f4 command Jaws just says 4, when starting to type Jaws will not
say the first couple of keys typed, when using the control and cursor key to
read word by word Jaws will not read the first word, this started about 2-3
weeks ago.

Any ideas?

Thanks

John
