Earlier versions of Excel allow the user to specify column and row titles by the combination insert/alt control R for column titles and C for row titles.  The titles can be saved but occasionally wipe out and you have to re-do.

Hope this works for Excel 2018

Hi friends,

I Wonder if someone can help me please?
I Have a spread sheet and across the top, there are headings so a1, a2, a3 and
a4 are the headings of the columns going down with data in them.
Sometimes when I am half way down and moving from left to right, it would be
useful to be able to press key key combination that would read the column
heading that I am in so I don't have to keep remembering them, especially if I
keep expanding the number of columns.
Does anyone know if there is a way to do this please?

Many thanks in anticipation,
