I guess jAWS will work with a lot of SAPI5 voices. I have never tried to install any, but your Windows computer probably came with the standard microsoft ones. You can select those from the Jaws, Options, Voices menu. Select "choose a voice profile".
If you want to download some of the Vocalizer voices, go to the synthesizer download page at Freedom Scientific. There is a link to it in the JAWS help menu. On that page, you can select your language, and the type of synth voice you want, either in a pack with other voices sharing the same language, or in premium editions as a single voice. The premium downloads are fairly large; around 300 mb each as I recall. It's an .msi installer package, so you run it like you would a standard Windows installer and follow the prompts. Then, restart JAWS, and the new voice(s) will be available to you. -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List <jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com> On Behalf Of HICKS, Steven (ROYAL CORNWALL HOSPITALS NHS TRUST) Sent: June 28, 2018 6:29 AM To: 'JAWS-Users-List@JAWS-Users.COM' <JAWS-Users-List@JAWS-Users.COM> Subject: [JAWS-Users] Changing Voices I Would like to try a few different vioces for JAWS, I have always used Eloquence, can anyone give me the quick steps to try this please? **************************************************************************** **************************************** This message may contain confidential information.
