Hi There Not sure whether you've received a reply to this; Jaws treats the picture as an object. Press Control Shift O to bring up the list of objects then find your picture in the list and press Enter. This selects the object. If Jaws still doesn't read the alt text, at least having the object selected will give you more options for dealing with it.
