I think members of this list have differing experiences.

I have forced both Outlook Express in the past and now Outlook 2003 to
receive emails in plain text format. I never have problems with Jaws reading
emails now , whereas like you I found receiving emails in html caused
unpredictable behaviour with Jaws.

However, I have seen others on this list supporting the use of html emails
as working best with Jaws which surprised me.

I guess you should experiment to see which setup your system likes best.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] REading Opened Emails Again

I'm still experiencing some trouble with this reading of opened emails with
jaws 8.

This is what happens, I've opened the email and jaws is reading it ok, I
press the control key to stop speech and then I want to use the up/down
arrow key to go back and read something I've missed. But this is where no
speech occurs.
I've pressed the control-grave key and my message voice says, I'm already in
the message body.
Now this doesn't always occur for every email, so I'm thinking it's a
setting on the senders part as to their choice of how they send and edit
their emails. I send all mine in plain text but think when this no speech
occurs it's from an email that is sent in HTML, does this sound right to
anyone on the list?

Thanks,

Patricia
