Hi, this sounds like an issue to do with your video card and associated drivers. If you can, update the video card to the latest drivers. This can be gotten from your computer manufacturer's website or the Microsoft Update site. Hope this helps.

I'm having an interesting/strange problem with Jaws, and I'm about at my wit's end trying to solve it. I installed Jaws on a Dell laptop which was given to me at work so I could telecommute from home. We got Jaws up and running just fine, however, it seems that Jaws is not reading things that it has read on every other computer I have used (including the desktop I'm currently on). For example, if you take the Jaws cursor and move around the screen with it (and I do with certain programs that aren't particular good iwth Jaws but that I can get to work with Jaws, all I hear is "blank, blank, blank" etc. Also Jaws is not reading me numbers/characters in edit boxes or the address bar in IE. Also in dialogue boxes,it won't read me the names of the tabs if there are any. I also have a Focus 40 Braille display and it's not showing me anything on that either. At first, I thought it was some program or box obscuring the screen, but now I'm not so sure, as it's a problem that I'm seeing not only on the desktop but as I said in edit boxes and dialogue boxes too. I've made sure there's no active desktop, changed my display settings to "windows classic", made sure jaws was running as a service, and now I'm not sure what to do, oh yes, I even uninstalled and reinstalled Jaws, and Jaws is running the most current update posted 05/22/2008, I think. The only other thing I can think to do is to fire up the laptop and have my husband look to see if there's something, some kind of program or toolbar or something obscuring the desktop. And oh yes, the quick launch toolbar is disabled too. I'm hoping someone can help me as I need to get this working because this could interfere with my ability to do my job effectively once I'm allowed to telecommute, which I don't think they'll let me do until I figure this problem out. Also, has anyone used a program called Aventail, it seems to run through your browser allowing you to connect to your work's network or something, it's like a way to log into your work's resources securely or osmething like that and work from anyone. Thta seems to work OK with Jaws, but again, I need to fix whatever is preventing me from seeing my jaws cursor because one program in particular, I really need to have that... Anyway, any thoughts/help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
