Don,

I'm using JFW version 6.20.65u and I can't find any place where it says that
you can have JAWS say "cap" for capital letters. Like you, I know that
option existed in earlier versions. I realize that it would be less
convenient, however, if you really need to know whether or not an alphabetic
character is capitalized, use the say character keystroke to get the
ANSI-value of the current character. Capitalized characters are within the
range A to Z or 65 to 90.

Hi, Donald,
I'm sort of ashamed to say that I don't know for sure. I got JAWS 9 only a
few months ago and am still getting used to it. :) So here's the answer of
a slow learner.

Press insert+f2 to get to the list of JAWS managers.
Go into either the first or second one, , which is adjust JAWS options.
This will take you into a treeview.
Arrow down until you get to "editing options" which is on the first level of
the treeview.
Press right arrow to open this. You will come to a list of options and one
should be "caps indicate". I believe you press the spacebar to toggle the
option from character to word etc.

Hth,
Erin
