Hello Estelita, If you are using the term "tick mark" interchangeably with "checkmark" then if in a dialog box in Word you can use the spacebar to check or uncheck items. However, sometimes the ticks are on lines where you can't use the spacebar for checking or removing checks from items. What generally works is to use the JAWS cursor. If you are using a desktop configuration with the number pad then first move to the line where the item is that needs ticked. If you can not move there with the PC cursor then route the JAWS cursor to the PC cursor by using the keystroke of the insert key on the number pad with the minus key on the number pad. The insert key is the very bottom left key of the number pad and the minus is the very top right key. After routing the JAWS cursor, use navigational keys to move to the line where the tick mark is that needs ticked. When on the appropriate line use the home key to move to the beginning of that line. Check the current word and if it is not the tick mark then move with navigational keystrokes across the line to find the mark. When focus is on the mark then use the number pad slash key. The slash is the second key from the left on the top row of the number pad. This left mouse click can normally be used to tick or remove the tick mark from items in a list. When done, remember to turn PC cursor on by pressing the number pad plus key, which is the second key from the top on the right side of the number pad.
If I am not understanding your need then feel free to contact me off list with examples. Take care.
