Andrew, I am running an XP still, but as soon as vista came out I had 2 
extra machines running vista, the Vaio I had not many issues with 2007 
office. However with the HP  I had some, but I was using jaws 8. of course I 
know jaws 9 already took care of some of those problems.
Now my sighted friends who bought dell are having an really bad time with 
it. I don't mean to talk bad about a brand, but I think they are struggling 
with vista.
I also run office 2003 and 2007 in my xp vaio machine because it  depends 
what I want it it for.
I think it might be a personal choice at least on the office issue.
