How do you turn it off, and what are you turning off? It is not the sounds that are the problem. The problem is, for example, that it seems that when you go to a website that has a field to fill in, JAWS takes you there directly whether you want to be there or not.
The other issue is what I call the either-or problem. If you have two edit fields, and you must select one, if you select the first field, JAWS makes it difficult to bypass the second field.
