What were you doing or trying to do, or in what program were you? Add-ons might refer to internet Explorer or even Firefox if you have it, and if you didn't add anything to it they might be disabled. Add-ins are things you add to Microsoft office, like foreign-language support in Microsoft word, dictionary files, etc.
