Is it possible that the status of the USB drive was changed to
"read only? If that is the case, then you will need to
uncheck that item.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] write protected USB drive
My friend asked me to format a 8gb USB thumb drive because
he could not do it on his computer. After running a virus
check I started the format process and discovered that the
drive was write protected. How and why he did this I don't
know. How can I unprotect this USB drive so I can format it.
