yes, you are. You need to choose to unsubscribe by deleting or removing an actual subscription. If you didn't do such a thing, you are still subscribed. As long as your podcast feeds are mentioned in the subscription tab control, you can investigate how many episodes there are to download or already downloaded (that is, removed or skipped) by tabbing into the list view there.
