you have to find the person's name in your friends list before you go into
inbox, there'll be an option in the person's profile to send them a message.
once you select that option, it's perfectly usable.

hi, has anyone been able to figure out how to compose messages with the
new facebook. clicking on the compose link doesn't work, and neither does
routing the jaws curosr cursor and left-clicking.
