You can't turn off the voice's own internal dictionary. (You can only modify it, as you have done, by over-riding its speech within the .jdf.) I suspect that FS will have to do the same, if there's enough knowledge or demand for such changes, so as to cater for different voices. there are examples [of pronunciation] already within the JDF, which were probably constructed for eloquence, but which my Apolllo 2 turns around.

I now use the Australian Karen voice and have found similar, unwanted "replacements". It happens even if I turn off the JAWS Dictionary Manager. The escalation Tech Support guy thinks it might be a dictionary embedded within the voice. He currently did not know how to turn it off, but he is looking into the issue. It makes the following replacements: Dr. (with a period) = drive whereas Dr (no period) = Doctor WA (as in Seattle, WA) = Western Australia Rx = recipe sec (as in KB/sec) = secretary Roman numerals such as "D" or "C" = their value (not sure how it decides when since it is only occasional) mm = millimeters $ 14M (million) = dollar 14 meters and so on... I have overridden some of these using the JAWS Dictionary Manager. But it would be much better if the voice's internal dictionary (if that is what it is?) could be turned off. Does anyone know how to do this?
