An external hard drive is essencially just a standard PC or laptop hard drive placed in an enclosure, so no software really has to be installed to operate it. As for the backup problem, it all depends what you want to do. If you simply want to copy data across, I believe that a programme called sync toy would do the trick. Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but I believe it can be set on a skedule. If you want to do an image based backup however, which allows you to restore the system from a total hard drive faliur, then you could use Image for windows, although it cannot be placed on a skedule, and in any case, you wouldn't need to perform an image backup daily anyway.

Hope this helps,

Aiden

Subject: [JAWS-Users] External hard drive

Hello all,

I need to back up my computer. I'm looking for an external hard drive, but I
want one that will back up for me automatically. I'm running JAWS 8, so I
need something whose software will be accessible with JAWS.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. I really hope one of you can recommend
something.

Thanks much.

Joan Goldberg
