Be sure that, read messages in plain text is not checked.
Go to, tools options and the, read tab.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] jaws and outlook express problem
Hello, a first time post. A happy new year to everyone. Could someone
tell me why jaws has stopped reading messages in OE with the virtual
cursor. I can still read messages this way but I have to go to the view
menu and select view message in HTML. It is not a big problem, just
slightly puzzling. Is it something I've accidentally changed in OE?
