I went to my second computer which I only use occasionally to get nightly news
from MSNBC but even on that computer I got the IE7 message "could not open the
web page" along with that awful sound notification. Not much is loaded on that
computer other than XP and Avast. Sounds like it is an Avast issue that just
happened recently. I did notice on my primary PC when I went to uninstall avast
there is a repair section. But that did not seem to work. I uninstalled avast
and tried to get the file on MSNBC but still no go. So, reinstalled Avast
because of course I need an antivirus program. Is there something in avast
where I can tell it not to block specific IE7 sites for spyware? Thanks.
