Hi all! I'am a facebook user since more than a year! I know that any blind can have problems with facebook and I myself did in the beginning but now I do almost everything that a sighted user can do and easily so I'll tell u! first, u must have both Internet explorer and firefox. The default is that IE7 can do all the things for u! but in case u failed to do something copy and paste the URL in firefox and it may work! second and most important: facebook uses much annimations and graphics and visual labeled features. so u must adjust ur jaws to get the full functionality! u must do the following in both IE7 and firefox:
 open ur brouzer,
then press insert +6 to open the configuration manager when the configuration manager opens, press Alt +S to open the set options menue, then press H to open the HTML options window. in the text tab, check the expand abbreviations and expand accronyms checkboxes. in the graphics tab set the graphic verbosity to all and set the graphics options to longest and the last resort to image src. in the links tab check the 2 checkboxes, set the first radio button to longest and the next 2 to all. in the misc tab set the button text option radio button to use longest and uncheck the ignore flash checkbox. in the headings tab, set heading verbosity to heading with level, and uncheck the ignore inline frames checkbox. when u finish these settings press the OK butten then press control +S to save the changes then close the window.
now facebook must let u access every single item.
note: the registration page may include an image which may need someone to help u with. another note, after the registration when u set your profile, u must activate ur mobile number, this means that u provide ur mobile number with the international prefix of ur country and area code as +############### in the box specialised for it. Then facebook will send u a msge on ur mobile with an activation code which u have to enter it in ur activation page. if u don't do that, an image requiring u to insert some visual characters whenever u try to do anything. but if u do this activation u will access everything by jaws freely!
wish this helps and finds u happy! any questions are mostly welcome

Try installing it with narrator, and see if that works.

Thank you. I tried the B key to move between buttons; that did not
work either, but I'll go back and try the F6 key.

Try pushing the letter b which takes you from button to button.
You may also try using insert f6 to put your form fields in a list.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] JAWS: Form fields in PHP?

Hello list, and happy New Year.

I have generally found the PHP BBS website/blog/forum format to be
very accessible. However, on one particular site, I cannot seem to
navigate the "post topic" form to click a "browse for attach" file
button. I have tried tabbing from top to bottom and
vice-versa...nothing works. The webmaster for this site claims that
no significant changes have been made to the site's PHP BBS
software. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem, and if so
have you a work-around? TIA.

Paul

I can't duplicate this here with Windows Mail and Word 2003. Try setting
Word to display in print layout view rather than normal or web layout.

Hi
When I open outlook express and then Microsoft word 2003, Jaws 10 does
not read the word document. I have to close outlook express then the word
document is readable. Just tried it with excel and all is fine. think I
need to change Microsoft word display?

Just press the Windows key or control plus escape on your keyboard. This
brings up your start menu. Then press enter when you find the Settings
option and then press enter on Control Panel. After this, you just use the
arrow keys to navigate through the different applications until you find
the
option entitled Sounds and Audio Devices. Once you press enter for this
option, you can set the volume and a number of other settings by tabbing
through the dialog box.

If you go to your desk top, just press tab until you get to your system
tray. You shouldn't need to go into JAWS for anything in this case.

You should find your clock, perhaps antivirus software, and the option to
safely remove hardware in your system tray.

You can turn down the volume by going to the sounds and audio devices
section on the Control Panel. When you open this up it will bring up a
dialog box. By default, the master volume is displayed in your system
tray. If it is not displayed there you can check this option while
fixing
the problem.

Hi, try this instruction, you don't need to go to control panel.
This is what I do when I want to increase or decrease my JAWS volume.
While on desktop, shift tab ones,
left arrow to volume, enter.
Tab ones, down or up arrow to desired volume percent enter.
Then just press Tab till JAWS says desktop, or press alt f4 to go back to
desktop.

Just press the Windows key then press C to launch the Control Panel. When
the Control Panel comes up, press S repeatedly until you land on Sounds
and
Audio Devices and hit Enter. The first item on the Volume tab is the
volume
control slider, which you can adjust with the up and down arrow keys.
When
you have adjusted the volume to your liking, tab to the Okay button, then
close the Control Panel. There is a check box in the Volume tab that lets
you place the volume control icon in the task bar. I recommend checking
it
so that you will be able to easily access your volume control if you need
to
make further adjustments. Then all you have to do is press Insert-f11 to
access the task tray and hit Enter on the Volume icon.

Go to Sounds and Audio Devices on the Control Panel, and adjust the

This works only if the Volume icon is already in the task tray, which it
is
not by default. So you still have to access the Sounds and Audio Devices
option on the Control Panel to check the appropriate box to place it
there.
