When I set this option to off, in the ins-V dialogue, in IE, it doesn't stay
set to off, between sessions.
Where can I find Language Detect Change, in Configuration Manager.

Thank you.

that's Dana, D A N A, NOT Donna, D O N N A
If your synthesizer pronounces them identically, instruct your customized
pronunciation dictionary that Dana=dayna.

Vicky,

It's possible that some names are identified in Word as being French,
and JAWS is automatically switching to a French synthesiser to read
them. To stop JAWS doing this, press Insert + V and go to Language
Detect Change which is under Reading Options. On my PC I can press L
three times and I'm there. If it's on, press SpaceBar to turn it off.

If your documents aren't supposed to be in French, you might want to
change a setting in Word so that they are all English. Select a part of
all of a document, open the Tools menu, Language submenu and choose Set
Language. You'll be in a long list of languages. If nothing is selected,
that means more than one language is specified within the text in your
selection; if a language is selected that means all the text in your
selection is in that language. Choose the language of your choice - and
be aware there are lots of options within English!

Subject: [JAWS-Users] JAWS Reading in English and French At Different
Times

Hello. I'm using JAWS 10. In Word (using Word 2003) my computer
suddenly
began to speak French at times and English at times. It seems to do
this
most

of the time when I am in a document of a list of names. One name with
all
of the contact information will be spoken in English and the next name
and
contact

information will be spoken in French. Then the process repeats itself
as I
go down the list. I went to the JAWS options and also the global
settings

and my speech synthesizer is set to American English and the language is
set
at English. Any ideas? I would greatly appreciate your help!
