HiListers,

I'm a new member on this list, having subscribed only a few hours ago.

I would have lurked a while, but perhaps can be of assistance with this issue.

Although it's a bit sluggish with editing, I have tried the realspeak Daniel
with jaws 8 and 9.

If one purchased jaws 8 and 9, you already got realspeak voices, provided that
you did not download jaws from the fs site, as I think the realspeak voices
were on a separate cd to be provided by the dealer in your region , but it was
not the latest proprietary version of the realspeak voices which one now gets
with jaws 10.

Those earlier realspeak voices are grouped under the sapi 5 voices and in jaws
8, on some computers, one must have the "use sapi 5 during say all," box in the
jaws individual voice settings checked, to be able to see those voices. but the
latest proprietary version is listed under solo direct. You can have both on
your computer, but the proprietary one of course doesn't work with other
programs, although both versions run under jaws 10.

If one already had kurzweil with the realspeak voices, which Kurzweil calls
scansoft, installed on your pc, you don't have to install them again for jaws,
although the new solo direct proprietary improves the previous realspeak's
sluggishness under jaws 10. I haven't tested it with previous jaws versions so
cannot comment on whether it will work.

Riana

Those are not SAPI 5 voices. Under your control insert S window look for
Real Speak Solo Direct.

I believe that tomorrow is another day, and I'll probably screw that one up
too.

SoloDirect

Hello Friends.
I cannot use the voices of Real Speak Solo direct from Freedom
Scientific. I have installed 2 voices, Karen Australian English, and
Paulina Latin american spanish, but When I open the sapi5, I don't
have the voices reading for me, I only get the voice of Doctor Sam. I
Use JAWS 8, the spanish version, but I change it to english when I
need to worck with things in english because I'M Multilingual.
