Didn't work because the Insert key was taken over by NVDA. That's why neither Insert-F4 would work nor would Insert-J move me to the window so I could unload JAWS with Alt-F4. It was pretty weird!

Have you tried accessing JAWS from the System Tray by pressing Insert-F11 and then hitting Enter on the JAWS icon? This should bring up JAWS so that you can unload it.
