I'm using Jaws 10, and the alt-space bar brings up the system menu. I'm also wondering if you set another program to use the alt-space bar hotkey? I did this once with a different key command, and it over road the original key command. Once I deleted the new hotkey I chose, the original key command returned and worked correctly again. Make sure that when you set up global hotkeys in programs like Skype that you're not using a key command that's already in use. This will cancel out the original hotkey. Jack
