I just went to windows updates and found 6 hardware updates for my machine. There were some for my video card, sound card, printer drivers and processor. I selected all and left it install. When it restarted my system there was no sound. If my wife were not here I would have been in a big mess. When she came to look there was a screen about freedom scientific video intercept. There was a place for her to install. After a long time it finally restarted with sound. Even the windows startup music was missing. I am running xp home sp3, the newest build of jaws.
