Hi John,

SUPERAntispyware is a free (or paid, if you want live protection) program
that does a good job, from

www.superantispyware.com/

and, yes, it is advisable to have an anti-spyware program as well as your
antivirus program, if nothing else because no one anti-spyware program can
catch all spyware. Although some antivirus programs do also incorporate
some anti-spyware protection, conditions apply (as above).

Subject: [JAWS-Users] ad-aware

Hi list. I have been using ad-aware SE for some time and found it very jaws
friendly with the jaws scripts. I note, however, that as of April 1, on the
lavasoft website, that the definitions updates are no longer supported, only
the AE(paid) edition is. I have a couple of specific questions and a general
one. 1
are the scripts useable with the AE?
2. would the ad-aware AE add much more protection to the Avast antiviral
program that I am running now, or is there another free program that works
well with Jaws that does the same job?
This brings up the general question that I have not quite gotten a grip
on... is it necessary in addition to a general antiviral program such as
Avast, or AVG,etc, to run programs, such as Spybot, Ad-aware etc., for
spyware, trojans etc?If so, is there a resource or website that lists which
programs are best suted for which threats? I very much appreciate the points
I have learned from the very helpful listers, and thanks in advance for your
suggestions.
