Leonard, Try stopping speech with the Escape key rather than the CTRL+Key. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

However, If I silence jaws with the ctrl key and then try to pick up reading again by using the jaws say all function words get cut in a sentence even if I maximize the page. If I use the up/down arrow keys to read line by line the page reads correctly. This situation happens even on so-called printer friendly pages.
