Hi Larry,
I have outstanding success with Iris OCR software. It is mostly JAWS
friendly strait from the box. The one place you may want help is setting the
scanner type. There some boxes there one has to use the JAWS cursor to access.
For instance duplex scanning. Once you have that set up, do an alt F. to bring
up the file menu. arrow down to save default settings. press enter and follow
the questions on the screen to save your scanner settings. You only need to go
through this process once.
To scan press control D. then answer the prompts. once you are don
scanning press enter tab twice and press enter again. you should be on the main
screen. then press control R. to recognize the text and save it to file.
I have scanned countless text books for college this way. I love Iris OCR
software. If there is any thing else I can do to help please let me know.
God bless,
Mark

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Iris OCR
Hi Folks,
I just found a great deal on an HP-5590 flatbed scanner. It
comes bundled with Iris OCR software and wanted to find out
if you guys had any success with that application.
I am using JFW 9.latest and Windows-XP Pro.
